NEW CASTLE - Six health-care innovators will join six education innovators to talk about their inventions during the Disruptivate! Goes Vertical Conference Tuesday at the Wentworth by the Sea Hotel.
Disruptivate! Goes Vertical! will bring together innovators, entrepreneurs, creatives, technologists, angel investors, venture capitalists and change-makers to celebrate the art and practice of 'disruptive innovation' in health care and education through panel discussions and presentations about disruptive innovations.
'These are probably two of the biggest topics that citizens of New Hampshire talk about as root issues, where improvements can have leverage effects on quality of life, while removing consumer pain,' said Mark Galvin, co-founder and managing director of the New Hampshire Innovation Commercialization Center. 'Better yet, these areas provide fertile ground for the creation of start-ups.'
The center organizes the event.
The 12 winners of the 'Vital Vertical Ventures' - V3 - competition will join more than 20 high-profile speakers, panelists and presenters at the daylong event, including University of New Hampshire President Mark Huddleston, state Commissioner for Health and Human Services Nick Toumpas, cancer survivor 'e-Patient Dave,' New Hampshire Business Review's Jeff Feingold and Google's Matt Dunne.
Health care winners include Rep. Marilinda Garcia, R-Salem, discussing her legislation, 'The Price Disclosure Act;' Mike Mazzola of Lamprey Networks in Durham presenting several innovations to connect interoperable medical devices; Kyle Pribilski of Formation HD in Chicago will present its social wellness platform; Mike Muldoon of Interactive Medical Productions in Hampton will present his balance measurement app, uStabilize; Amit Mathew of Cambridge, Mass., will represent Uprise Medical, a patient education platform for mobile and tablet devices; and Michaeline Daboul of Mmis, Inc., in Portsmouth will present MediSpend, an SaaS platform for transparency reporting for medical providers.
Disruptivate! is a semi-annual celebration of ideas, people, companies or entities that challenge existing limits, ask questions, defy expectations and fundamentally 'disrupt' the status quo.
The first Disruptivate! Conference was held last April.
