Young professionals group celebrates

MANCHESTER — Demographic data shows the Granite State getting older and having a tough time keeping and attracting young workers. Someone forgot to tell the Manchester Young Professionals Network, which marks its eighth anniversary Wednesday at the Derryfield Country Club.

The group has an email mailing list that exceeds 3,000, and more than 200 people signed up for the networking event, says Miranda Yeaton, who joined the group a couple of years ago after moving here from Vermont.

“A lot of students are finding jobs here and staying here rather than going to Boston or New York,” says Yeaton, who does marketing work for the Scott Lawton Group, a Concord-based environmental consulting company.

The networking event takes place 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Derryfield Country Club, 625 Mammoth Road in Manchester.

The event includes recognition of the MYPN Young Professional of the Year and the MYPN Business of the Year award winners.

For more information, visit mypn.org or contact Yeaton at 603-228-3610 or myeaton@slgl.com.
