Connecticut man arrested by Henniker police
HENNIKER — A Connecticut man who allegedly orchestrated a revenge beating of a local man in January was arrested last week by Henniker police on criminal liability charges.
Meanwhile, police said they are continuing to search for the three men who carried out the attack.
Police said Manuel Arteaga, 22, of Norwalk, Conn., was involved in a fight at a party at a Bridge Street apartment on Jan. 29. After the incident, he contacted friends in Connecticut “to aid him with retribution for the incident.”
Police said he showed the men — two of them police identified as Armando Vargas and Edwin Gutierrez — the residence, then “vacated the area and went back to his residence.” The other men went to the apartment, broke in and attacked two men, punching one in the face and hitting another with a hockey stick. Vargas and Gutierrez are wanted on charges of burglary and assault,
Police said another person may have been involved. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 428-3213 or anonymously by calling the Concord Regional Crimeline at 226-3100.
