Maine man arrested in Portsmouth burglaries
PORTSMOUTH - A Portland, Maine man is being held on $30,000 cash bail accused of burglarizing two truck stops over the summer.
Anthony Carter, 25, of 11 Exchange St., Apt. 3F, was arrested Thursday on three counts of burglary.
According to a news release, an anonymous tipster told police Carter was the man who burglarized Hanscom's Truck Stop on both the north and south side of the Route 1 By Pass.
The northbound truck stop was burglarized on July 17 and both businesses were broken into on Aug. 20. Police said in each incident the burglar took money from an ATM machine as well as other property.
