Clouds clear for excellent view of mountains' snow
NORTH CONWAY - The clouds finally cleared enough Saturday morning for people to get a good look at the snow on top of the higher summits of the White Mountains.
The snow had fallen over several days, with the Mount Washington Observatory reporting two inches of snow, rime and ice on the summit. So far this month, the summit has received over eight inches of snow.
The Mt. Washington Auto Road is closed to private vehicles today, but is hoping to offer guided tours to treeline. The Mount Washington Cog Railway is open.
