College Roundup: Dartmouth field hockey tips Yale
The Dartmouth College field hockey team used four first-half goals to defeat Yale 4-3 on Saturday in Hanover, the first time since 2005 that the Big Green have beaten the Bulldogs.
Dartmouth used four first-half goals, two of which came off the stick of Ali Savage. Thornton’s Jenna Stearns made one save in her 35 minutes in net.
Keene State 7, Eastern Connecticut 2: At Mansfield, Conn., Bridgewater’s Katlyn Simula and North Hampton’s Lyndsie Rabenius each netted two goals. Center Conway’s Alex Billert added a goal, while Kailin Billert, also of Conway, assisted on a Rabenius goal and later scored her team-leading 16th goal of the season. Berlin’s Marisa Lemoine wrapped up the scoring. Goffstown’s Chloe Audesse played nearly 18 minutes in net but was not challenged.
Saint Michael’s 2, Franklin Pierce 1: At Rindge, Megan Bird of Laconia recorded her 13th career assist to move into a three-way tie for second in school history. She now sits one behind Danielle Dolan.
Wheelock 4, Daniel Webster 0: At Boston, Derry’s Danielle Melanson made six saves for the Eagles.
Thomas 2, Colby-Sawyer 0: The Chargers dropped an NAC contest at home Saturday. CSC dropped to 5-5. Thomas junior goalie Sofia Sourgiadakis (Littleton) made one save in the shutout.
Women’s soccer
Western Connecticut 4, Plymouth State 0: At Plymouth, Dover’s Chelsea Duval made three saves before being forced out of the game with an injury. Backup Hannah Kimball of Epping made two saves.
Keene State 5, Rhode Island College 1: At Providence, Swanzey’s Brittany Croteau led the way with two goals, while Jessica Berthiaume, Elise Bolster, and Brittany Boscarino added single tallies.
Franklin Pierce 3, Le Moyne 2 (2ot): At Syracuse, N.Y., Talita Pereira hit the back of the net in second overtime for her second goal of the game and the victory. Claremont’s Elizabeth Guimond added the other goal, while Manchester’s Katie Weldon earned her first win in net with nine saves.
Adelphi 3, St. Anselm 1: At Garden City, N.Y., Epping’s Kaitlin Oldfield scored the loan Hawks goal.
Colby-Sawyer 5, Lyndon 0: At New London, Sarah Little scored a pair of first-half goals, while Bradford’s Laurel Bauer added one of her own. Samantha Smith of North Haverhill made 13 saves for Lyndon.
Regis 7, Daniel Webster 0: At Weston, Mass., Jennifer Fredericks made 23 saves in net.
Southern New Hampshire 2, Pace 0: At Briarcliff, N.Y., the Penmen scored a goal in each half to post a Northeast-10 win Saturday. SNHU (9-3-2) got goals from Ashley Jaskula and Morgan Branco and Maggie Weldon (Manchester) turned aside three shots en route to her third shutout of the season.
Women’s volleyball
UMass Boston 3, Endicott 2: At Medford, Mass., Jackie Cone of Salem had 15 kills for Endicott.
AIC 3, St. Anselm 2: At Springfield, Mass., Rochester’s Shannon Douglas led the Hawks with 13 kills and three digs.
Keene State 3, Mount Holkoke 0; Keene State 3, Smith 1: Alexis Michal of Windham finished with 23 assists in the win over Smith.
Cross country
Conn. College Invitational: At Waterford, Conn., both the Keene State men’s and women’s teams placed third. The men’s team finished with 147 points, losing to the home team who finished with 86.Dover’s Ryan Brady was 21st (26:04), while Chris Plankey of Bristol was 59th (26:43). The women finished behind Tufts (54 points) and Plattsburgh State (91) with 151 points. Marie Whitney of Jaffrey was 35th.
NCAA Pre-Nationals Invitational: At Louisville, Ky., Keely Maguire placed 58th overall and UNH took a 23rd place finish. Exeter’s Anne Twombly placed 114th, while Chelsey Serrano of Manchester finished 141st.

UMass Lowell 4, St. Anselm 1: At Lowell, Mass., Bruno Dasilva scored the lone goal for the Hawks. Center Harbor’s Eric Moriarty made two saves.
Colby-Sawyer 3, Lyndon 1: At New London, Allen Komisarek of Bethlehem scored a goal, while Fremont’s Mike Laskowski had an assist.
