Inmate tries to escape while at Nashua hospital
NASHUA — A jail inmate, taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital last week for treatment of an undisclosed medical issue, tried to escape the medical facility by climbing out a window and onto the roof, police said.
The man, identified by police as Travis Laponsee, 28, of 7 1/2 Pleasant St., was quickly caught last Thursday night and taken back into custody.
He was being detained by the Hillsborough County Department of Corrections after being arrested on a burglary charge.
Laponsee now faces a charge of escape, a class B felony.
What’s next: Laponsee is being held on $25,000 cash pending an Oct. 24 probable cause hearing in 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District Division.
