Traffic tie-up on I-93 South in Salem
SALEM - An accident Tuesday morning shut down both travel lanes of Interstate 93 South, between exits 2 and 1, for about 15 minutes, causing a backup into Windham, according to a state Department of Transportation Management Center official.
The crash happened at 7:17 a.m. and state police closed both travel lanes until 7:31 a.m.. Traffic was rerouted into the breakdown lane while the travel lanes were closed.
Traffic still was backed up to Windham 45 minutes after the crash.
No details were available concerning the accident.
