Bomb threat forces evacuation of Kohl's store in Rochester Monday evening
ROCHESTER – No one was injured when the local Kohl's store was evacuated after a bomb threat was called in this evening.
Police, firefighters and emergency personnel responded to at 160 Washington St. – Route 202 - around 5:53 p.m. after an employee at the Rochester Crossing store received a phone call indicating that there was an explosive device inside the building.
By the time police arrived, staff and customers had been safely evacuated, which allowed members of Rochester police and the State Police Bomb Squad K-9 team to search the store.
Although no explosive device was located, police continue to investigate the incident and are working to identify the origin of the call.
