Two hurt in Manchester highway crash
MANCHESTER — Several lanes of the merging point of the southbound lanes of Interstates 293 and 93 were closed for about a half-hour Tuesday evening after an accident that injured two motorists, according to Manchester Fire District Chief Michael Gamache.
Gamache said one person was trapped in one of the cars and had to be rescued using hydraulic cutting tools. After the crash, one car came to a stop in the breakdown lane of Interstate 293, while the other came to rest in the passing lane of Interstate 93, prompting a call for extra emergency personnel and for state police to shut down the entire highway for 30 minutes, Gamache said.
The drivers of the cars, whose names were not available, each suffered moderate injuries, he said.
