Parents plead for daughter to return to Candia home
CANDIA — The parents of Amanda Julian, the 16-year-old Candia girl who has been missing for over two weeks after running away from home on Oct. 2, have released a statement pleading for their daughter to return home and for anyone with knowledge of her whereabouts to contact Candia Police.
“We want to know she is safe and want her to come home,” the statement drafted by parents Maureen and Richard Julian reads. “Amanda has a large extended family and many friends who miss her desperately and want her to come home safe. Her little cousins keep asking, ‘Where’s Amanda?’ And Amanda’s pets need her love and attention.”
The statement continues, “Amanda, we love you and just want you home safe and sound. Please get in touch with us or someone in the family … your aunts, uncles or cousins … or contact the school or church rectory. So many people care and want you to come home safe.”
Julian has not been seen since approximately 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2, when she left her home and entered a car driven by an unknown person. Candia police believe she is currently somewhere in the Manchester area and have been coordinating with the Manchester Police Department on the case.
Police confirmed that they continue to follow up on leads and remain in regular contact with the family.
“The longer she’s been gone, the more significant it is,” said Candia Officer Daniel Gray. “It’s easy for a young girl to get in over her head, and we don’t want to see anything like that happen.”
The family has put up flyers throughout New England and is utilizing social media outlets in their efforts to bring Julian home.
Amanda Julian is 5-foot-7 and weighs 120 pounds. Her hair is long and brown. She has hazel eyes and her ears are pierced. She was last seen in jeans and a white tank top. She attends school at Manchester Memorial High School as a sophomore. Any tips regarding her whereabouts may be directed to the Candia police department at 483-2318.
