New Hampshire Attorney General to release report on domestic violence deaths
CONCORD — A report detailing the state’s deaths related to domestic violence will be presented at a press conference Monday by Attorney General Michael Delaney.
The report, which examined the state’s domestic-violence-related murders and deaths that happened by murder-suicide from 2001 to 2010, examines in depth where the murders happened, causes of death, times that are more prone for violence and who typically is involved, according to a release from the Attorney General’s Office.
Half the state’s murders and 92 percent of the state’s murder-suicides were related to domestic violence, the release said. The release of the report coincides with National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
“The goal of this report is to improve the understanding of the context of these homicides and to promote the optimal allocation of resources to help prevent future homicides,” the release said.
The press conference will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Attorney General’s Office at 33 Capitol St.
