2 arrested at Kohl’s after knife is pulled: police say

HOOKSETT — Police made two arrests near the Hooksett Kohl’s Monday after a Nashua man suspected of shoplifting pulled a knife on a store security guard, according to police.

Before 11 a.m. Monday, Kevin White, 24 of Nashua, and a 21-year-old woman who identified herself as Alyssa Blackman were believed to have stolen jewelry from the Kohl’s Department Store near exit 10 in Hooksett.

A store security guard approached the two in the parking lot, at which point White brandished a knife and threatened the store officer, according to the guard. The two suspects then escaped into the woods. No one was injured.

Hooksett police were called in at 11:08 a.m. Detective Jake Robie made the arrest after recognizing the two on nearby Kimball Drive. Officers Dan Lombardo and Caitlin Johansen Rebe, Sgt. Kris Dupuis, and Captain Jon Daigle responded to help.

White continued to behave erratically as the day continued, according to police. He exposed himself to a booking officer at the Hooksett Police Department, tampered with his cell camera, and elbowed an officer in the chest while being escorted to the cruiser which was to transfer him to Merrimack County jail, police said.

During the ride to Merrimack County Jail in Boscawen, White inflicted injuries on himself in the back of the cruiser and was taken to Concord Hospital. He was treated and taken to jail.

White is charged with robbery, indecent exposure, criminal mischief, and simple assault. Police said he also has warrants with departments outside of Hooksett.

Blackman is charged with shoplifting and obstruction of government administration. Police believe Blackman gave them a false name, and she refused later attempts to identify her.

Both were being held at Merrimack County jail on no-bail status, having refused to meet a bail commissioner. They will be arraigned at 6th Circuit Court, Hooksett District Division.
