NASHUA — A Hollis man who was facing a $250 fine for driving without a license now could end up in prison for up to seven years after he testified falsely that his license had been restored, according to police.

Steven Ducharme, 39, of 58 Truell Road, was arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts each of perjury and falsifying physical evidence, both class B felonies.

Lt. Frank Sullivan said Ducharme testified in 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District Division, on Oct. 9 that his driver's license had been restored and he provided an altered document as proof of his testimony.

The trial was continued to Oct. 19 when, according to Sullivan, Ducharme again testified his license was restored and then presented the same altered document as proof but which was then notarized.

What's next: Ducharme was released on $2,000 cash/surety bail, pending arraignment Nov. 14 in 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District Division.
