Fugitive found, this time in Mass.
CONCORD — “Fugitive of the Week" Richard Saunders was arrested Thurday in Haverhill, Mass., by local police after information was provided by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
In September 2012, the N.H. Department of Corrections — Parole Board issued an arrest warrant for Saunders for violations of his parole as part of his original sentence for assault.
As part of the investigation to find him, Saunders’ information was aired in the weekly feature “Fugitive of the Week” on Oct. 4. The information was broadcast on WTPL-FM and WMUR-TV, and published in the New Hampshire Union Leader and prominently featured on the Internet.
This week, the task force received information indicating that Saunders was living at a family member’s residence on Mechanic Street in Haverhill.
Haverhill police spotted Saunders and arrested him without incident.
