MANCHESTER - 5:05 p.m. - Authorities say a man considered a person of interest in a shooting death on Manchester's west side has been located.

Manchester police and the state Attorney General's Office issued a statement Friday afternoon saying 29-year-old Evan Smith had been located. Assistant Attorney General Janice Rundles said she could not release any other details regarding Smith, including how he was located and whether investigators had or planned to interview him.

Rundles said the case is considered a possible homicide. A man estimated to be in his 60s was found dead in a second-floor apartment of a house on Hevey Street earlier Friday.

MANCHESTER - 2:58 p.m. - Police said they are searching for a 29-year-old man considered armed and dangerous, identified as a "person of interest" in a fatal shooting on Hevey Street.

Assistant Attorney General Janice Rundles said the case has been initially classified as a possible homicide. A man estimated to be in his 60s was found dead in the second-floor apartment at 519 Hevey St. The man's name is being withheld until relatives are notified, Rundles said.

No one else was in the residence at the time police arrived and the death appears to be suspicious.

Police are requesting the public's assistance in locating Evan Smith, 29, described as a white male, 6-foot-4-inches tall, 200 pounds, with brown eyes, brown hair. Smith is believed to be driving a 1992 black Honda Civic, with New Hampshire license plate No. 332 2905.

Anyone with information on Smith's whereabouts or that of his vehicle should contact their local police department or the Manchester Police immediately at (603) 668-8711. The public is advised not to approach this person or his vehicle as he may be armed and dangerous.

Several neighbors in the area said they never even heard a gunshot.
