NH rivers well below flood stage says National Weather Service

CONCORD — New Hampshire rivers are far below flood stage and are not expected to pose a problem as Hurricane Sandy sweeps through the region, according to data available from the National Weather Service.

The Weather Service highlighted three rivers that will rise over the coming two days -- the Pemigewasset around Woodstock, the Saco around Conway and the Warner River at Davisville.

None will approach flood stage, according to the Weather Service. For example, the water level of the Saco River was measured at 3.4 feet shortly before noon on Monday. it’s forecast to rise to 7 feet by Wednesday morning, but that is 2 feet below flood stage.
