WINDHAM — A Pelham man who was shot by police early Sunday morning is facing multiple charges in connection with the incident.
Grant Hebert, 21, of 7 Tina Ave. in Pelham was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital following the shooting. No officers were injured.
Hebert is charged with attempted first-degree assault, two counts of reckless conduct, and three counts of criminal mischief, all felony charges. Investigators are still piecing together the circumstances surrounding the use of force.
Pelham police requested assistance with a brief vehicle pursuit on Heritage Hill Road around 1:40 a.m. on Sunday, according to Capt. Michael Caron of the Windham Police Department. Caron said he would not comment on how many Windham officers responded or the details of the stop while the investigation in ongoing.
Shots were reportedly fired in the vicinity of 47 Lowell Road. The Attorney General’s Office is investigating because an officer’s weapon was discharged during the incident, according to Associate Attorney General Jane Young. Hebert was released on $25,000 cash or surety bail and is scheduled to appear Dec. 3 in the 10th Circuit Court, Salem Division.
