Saco, Pemi swollen by Sandy's rains
CONWAY — The Saco River is at flood stage and is expected to crest at 11 feet Tuesday evening. The river reached 9.11 feet around 6 a.m. Flood stage for the river through the Conway area is 9 feet, which means there is likely one foot of water in commerical campgrounds and beaches. Those campgrounds are closed. At 9.5 feet, the Moat Brook Bridge in Transvale Acres floods. The Pemigewasset River in Woodstock is also at flood stage, with the National Weather Service reporting a 9.46-feet reading at 6 a.m. The river crested at 10.06 feet. Flood stage is 9 feet.
