NASHUA - Congressman Charlie Bass spent his morning visiting polling sites in Milford, Amherst and Nashua.

“I feel really good. A high turnout election is good for me,” Bass said while joining supporters outside Bicentennial Elementary School where Ward 8 voting was taking place.

Bass described himself as a “strong-principled Republican” who believes that Americans want solutions as a result of this important election.

“I have a good feeling about things today,” he added.

Gene Anderson, Ward 8 moderator, said about 1,300 ballots had already been cast by mid-morning, and he expected between 500 and 800 new voters to register at the polls in his ward on Tuesday.

The new voter identification law was not creating any problems early on, as only five requests for affidavits were requested by about 10 a.m., according to Anderson.

The line to vote extended around the building before the doors opened, but by mid-morning, the line was moving smoothly and voters were getting in and out of the parking lot with ease.
