Man accused in diaper exposure waives hearing
Alleged Craigslist diaper creep may get plea deal on lewdness, indecent exposure charges
SEABROOK - A Hooksett man with a history of faking a brain injury to get home care workers to change his diaper elected to not hear evidence against him that led to his latest arrest.
Eric Carrier, 24, will now have his case moved to Rockingham County Superior Court in Brentwood, where a grand jury can consider indicting him on a felony charge of indecent exposure and lewdness.
Hampton police arrested Carrier on Sept. 20 for allegedly trying to get a home care worker he met through an advertisement on Craigslist to change his diaper so he could expose himself.
Carrier, who is being held at the county jail, made a brief appearance before Circuit Judge Mark Weaver to waive his probable cause hearing. Court papers say Carrier could already be working on a plea deal, but that issue was not addressed at Wednesday's hearing.
A conviction on the felony charge is punishable by up to 3½ to 7 years in state prison. Hampton police say Carrier claimed to be a 22-year-old disabled man who could not control his bowel movements due to a brain injury when he communicated with his latest victim.
A 30-year-old Nashua woman who works as a home care worker met up with Carrier on Sept. 12, but grew suspicious of his behavior and later notified police, according to a court complaint.
Carrier allegedly asked the woman if she would change his soiled undergarment in an attempt to expose himself, police said.
Carrier was charged last year by Hooksett police with indecent exposure for soliciting five other women by posing as a disabled person on the web site Craigslist.org, according to police.
He was convicted of indecent exposure in one of those cases on July 30, police said.
Hooksett police said they received reports from several other women during their investigation last year, but could not go forward with those cases because they were beyond the statute of limitations.
