Ossipee police search for hit-and-run driver

OSSIPEE — Police say they are looking for a silver vehicle with a moose conservation license plate that allegedly hit a teenager on Route 16B on Saturday.

A 16-year-old Ossipee boy suffered a knee injury and was taken to Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro, according to police officer Anthony Castaldo.

The boy was crossing the street by Annie Nichols Road around 1:45 p.m.

A woman was allegedly driving the four-door vehicle with a partial license plate number containing “269,” according to police.

The driver, if caught, would be charged for leaving the scene of an accident, Castaldo said.
