Derry planners sign off on Kilrea Road subdivision
The property is owned by the estate of William Radford and will be divided into three lots of just over 15 acres, according to Town Planning Director George Sioras.
"There is an existing farm house residence on the property and two new frontage lots are being created as part of the family estate," said Sioras. "There was a site walk on this one a couple of years ago, and all town departments have reviewed and signed the plan."
The engineering firm for the subdivision made revisions based on comments made by the planning and public works departments, and Sioras said the departments were satisfied with those revisions. He also said there were no waiver requests nor state permits required for the subdivision.
"There were a number of driveway issues we had to address with public works, but I think we have done that satisfactorily," said project engineer James Lavelle.
In addition, Lavelle said the Radfords granted easements to the town for several cross culverts on the property. He said those easement agreements are being reviewed by town legal counsel.
"Have we gotten the sign-off from legal on the (easement) deeds?" Town Administrator John Anderson asked.
Sioras said the legal sign-off would be a condition of the approval for the subdivision.
Anderson said the planning board had previously approved the subdivision plan, but that it had expired, so the current board approval is essentially a reissue of the previous permit.
The planning board unanimously approved the new subdivision permit, 8-0.
No one from the public spoke during the public hearing for the plan.
