Eight to be inducted into NHIAA 'Hall'

Excellence abounds among the eight people who make up this year's class being inducted Sunday into the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association Hall of Fame.

Julie Donlon scored 2,502 points for the Nute of Milton girls' basketball team and helped lead the softball team to a pair of Class S titles, while running back Ryan Milhalko and coach Brian O'Reilly helped Pinkerton Academy of Derry go 23-0 and win two state titles during its first two years in Division I football (1985-86). O'Reilly is still coaching the Astros and will be after his 11th state football title (he also has nine in lacrosse) when Pinkerton plays Exeter for the Division I title Saturday in Exeter.

The late Pauline Albert led the Nashua High girls' track team to 12 state titles and three New England championships, and Buddy Trask has guided Colebrook to three titles in boys' basketball.

Other inductees include Moe Bilodeau, who has officiated more than 30 championship games in football and basketball, and current NHIAA executive director Pat Corbin, whose tenure has included the addition of bowling and the expansion of unified sports.

Also going in will be Harry Blood, the long-time athletic director and softball coach at Moultonborough Academy.

Sunday's ceremony will be held at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord and tickets are $55, which includes lunch. For tickets or more information, call the NHIAA at 228-8671.
