Ayotte to deliver Republican response to Obama radio address
U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte on Saturday will deliver the Republican response to President Barack Obama's weekly radio address to the nation.
It will be the second time the New Hampshire Republican has done so. She delivered the GOP response for the first time shortly before taking office in January 2011.
Ayotte's profile has been consistently on the rise, especially in recent weeks, when she has been outspoken on the Obama administration's handling of the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
But her address on Saturday will focus on the need to end partisanship and to address the federal deficit, the so-called "fiscal cliff" and the need for tax reform.
The time of the broadcast is at the discretion of local radio affiliates.
