Insurance company donates to help city repair dental van
MANCHESTER - An insurance company will donate funds for repairs to a van used by the Manchester Health Department to provide dental services to elementary and middle school students.
Northeast Delta Dental Foundation will provide a $10,000 grant to repair the Dental Van used by the city health department to treat children at city schools.
With a dentist on board, the Dental Van makes trips to each of the elementary and middle schools to perform oral health services for students whose families meet financial qualifying criteria. Exams, preventive procedures and oral health education are provided.
During the last school year, 622 children received treatment.
The Delta Dental Foundation is the charitable arm of Northeast Delta Dental, which provides dental benefits to individuals and companies in New Hampshire.
