In 2002, he chaired the UNH presidential search committee after Joan Leitzel announced her retirement from the post.

Now a U.S. Senator, Shaheen called Crosier "a tireless advocate for New Hampshire businesses, big or small, and a longtime friend."

Crosier served as a junior warden of the vestry of St. George's Episcopal Church of Durham.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Judith (Decker) Crosier, two sons and two grandchildren.
