A city man protested three felony drug sale charges Monday in Circuit Court-Manchester District Division.

"I'm not a drug dealer," said Jeffrey Rousseau, 22, of 32 Russell St. Rousseau could enter no plea to the charges that allege he sold the narcotic drug oxycodone to confidential informants working with police.

Rousseau told Judge William Lyons that he sold drugs to support his habit, but that he has stopped using drugs.

"I go to the methadone clinic," said Rousseau, adding, "I go to counseling."

Police prosecutor Carissa Pelletier requested $25,000 cash/surety bail, with a hearing on the source of any funds offered for bail.

"What? Are you serious," Rousseau said. He said he has no money and said no drugs were found in his apartment when it was searched at the time of his arrest.

Lyons set bail at the amount requested by the prosecutor and with the conditions requested.

A probable cause hearing on the three felony drug charges was set for Dec.4.

Says 110 oxycodone pills found in car weren't his

Speaking through an interpreter Monday, Simon Fernandez-Sosa, 23, of Queens, N.Y., told Circuit Court-Manchester District Division Judge William Lyons that the 110 oxycodone pills found in his vehicle weren't his.

According to police, Fernandez-Sosa also had $2,255 in cash on him during a traffic stop and was charged with felony possession of a narcotic with intent to sell.

Fernandez-Sosa said he had just arrived from the Dominican Republic and the money wasn't all his. He said the drugs were already in the car and he didn't know they were there until police found them.

Police prosecutor Carissa Pelletier requested $50,000 cash/surety bail, with a hearing on the source of any funds offered for bail, saying Fernandez-Sosa has no ties to Manchester.

Lyons set bail at $30,000 cash/surety with a hearing on the source of bail funds.

Bail set for man accused of assaulting stepfather

Bail was set at $1,000 cash/surety Monday in Circuit Court-Manchester District Division for a city man accused of assaulting his stepfather.

Matthew Bell, 30, of 296 Tarrytown Road, is accused of pushing the man to get past him after his stepfather tried to block his entrance, of chest and belly bumping his stepfather and of shoving him in the chest.

Bell pleaded innocent to all charges, telling Judge William Lyons: "He had shoved me with his shoulder first."

Bail conditions bar contact with his stepfather and bar him from any use of alcohol or illegal drugs. Trial was set for Feb. 5, 2013.

Nine noise complaints prompted call

Police said the desk personnel at the Holiday Inn Express, 1298 S. Porter St., called them after receiving nine noise complaints involving Kyle Green and Green still would not quiet down or leave. Green, 28, of 2 Windward Terrace, Salem, pleaded innocent Monday in Circuit Court-Manchester District Division to three misdemeanors of simple assault on a police officer, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Police said that when officers told Green to leave the establishment, he refused, hit one officer in the side, shoved an officer causing the officer to lose his balance, punched an officer and struggled with officers trying to handcuff him.

Police prosecutor Carissa Pelletier requested $5,000 cash/surety bail, saying Green has past convictions for assault (2), resisting arrest and criminal mischief. But Green asked Judge William Lyons for a reduced bail, saying: "I haven't gotten in trouble in 10 years." Lyons set bail at $3,000 cash/surety, with conditions that include not going to the Holiday Inn Express.
