CONCORD - A former state senator and Health and Human Services official, and a former state commissioner will co-chair Gov.-elect Maggie Hassan's gubernatorial transition team.
Former state Sen. Kathleen Sgambati, D-Tilton, and Sean O'Kane, former deputy commissioner of the state Health and Human Services Department and former Resources and Economic Development Commissioner, will be the co-chairs.
Hassan wants Sgambati and O'Kane to seek business and citizens input how best to spur the state's economy.
"To build a stronger, more innovative New Hampshire where our businesses can grow, flourish and create good jobs, we need to bring people together to address our challenges and move forward," said Hassan. "Kathy Sgambati and Sean O'Kane are two highly knowledgeable and dedicated public servants who have worked for years to build consensus on our most pressing issues, and I am proud to have them serve as co-chairs of my transition team."
Sgambati praised Hassan's innovation plan and fiscally responsible approach to balancing the state budget. She said that will help keep the state moving forward.
"New Hampshire's businesses are ready to create jobs, and Gov.-elect Hassan's focus on innovation and building a stronger work force will help our businesses succeed," said O'Kane.
Former Gov. John Lynch's deputy chief of staff Pam Walsh is head of Hassan's transition team director.
