Warren tax bills show sharp rate reduction

WARREN - Due to savings in the school portion of the budget and a reevaluation of town power lines, town taxpayers will receive substantially smaller tax bills than last year.

"This year's tax rate will bring some relief to our residents," said Town Administrator Andrew Dorsett.

The tax rate is going down from $20.62 per thousand last year to $15.98 per thousand, Dorsett said.

"That's just under $500 discount per $100,000 of property value from last year's rate," he said.

Tax bills went out this week.
