Manchester residents Matt Paulson and Samantha Goodnow led a field of more than 2,200 participants to win the 2nd annual Fisher Cats Thanksgiving 5K on Thursday morning. Paulson, 23, crossed the fine line inside Northeast Delta Dental Stadium, home of the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats, at 15 minutes, 4 seconds. Justin Freeman of New Hampton finished 27 seconds behind the leader. Goodnow, 21, was the top female runner at 18:21, ahead of Stephanie Burnham of Goffstown at 18:37.
New Hampshire Hospital for Children was the beneficiary for this year's race.
"We are so excited to see such an amazing turnout for this great event that supports such a great cause!" race organizer John Mortimer of Millennium Running said. "I love looking around and seeing all these families out staying active, healthy, and supporting the New Hampshire Hospital for Children."
