MANCHESTER -- U.S. Rep.-elect Carol Shea-Porter on Monday announced she hired former Democratic candidate for governor Jackie Cilley as her new district director.
Cilley is a former state senator and former House member who lost to Gov.-elect Maggie Hassan in the September primary.

She has also owned and operated a marketing consulting firm.
Democrat Shea-Porter defeated Republican Rep. Frank Guinta on Nov. 6, regaining the 1st District seat she held for two terms before losing to Guinta in 2010.
She said Cilley 'will bring extensive experience from her career in public service. The constituents of New Hampshire's first district will benefit from her integrity, her unflagging work ethic, and her commitment to constituents. I look forward to her working with us in the 113th Congress.'
As an adult student, Cilley attended UNH, where she received a BA in Liberal Arts and a Master's Degree in Business Administration.
