Seniors Count-Nashua hosts 'laughter' workshop
NASHUA - Learn about the health benefits of laughter at the Seniors Count-Nashua workshop on Monday, Dec. 10, at the Nashua Senior Activity Center.
Laughter helps your blood flow, has a positive impact on the immune system and helps lower blood sugar levels. It's also fun - and beneficial to your body. Workshop presenters are James Sullivan and Erica Kelly of Crestwood Care and Rehabilitation Center in Milford.
The free workshop begins at 1 p.m. at the Senior Activity Center at 70 Temple St. Advance registration is requested. Call Beth Todgham, at 889-3440, ext. 132 for information.
Workshop participants can come early to enjoy lunch offered by St. Joseph Community Services (Meals on Wheels) in the cafeteria at the Nashua Senior Activity Center. A $2 donation is requested for diners age 60 and over; the price is slightly higher for those under 60. Preregistration for lunch is required. Call Steve at 882-2106 to reserve. Lunch is from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
AARP announces driving?refresher courses
The AARP Driver Safety Program has announced the December lineup for its driving refresher course.
The two-part class, which is open to any age driver but geared to people over 50, costs $12 for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers. Preregistration is required.
The class covers information on defensive driving techniques and age-related changes to vision, hearing and reaction time. The course is a combination of discussion and videos; there are no written or driving tests.

Explore healthy living in words, photos in Haverhill
HAVERHILL - Horse Meadow Senior Center, 91 Horse Meadow Road, presents Photovoice, showcasing photography and words to explore healthy living on Friday, Dec. 7. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the program and awards ceremoney begins at 6 p.m.
The presenter is Dr. Anna Adachi-Mejia of the Norris Cotton Cancer Center and Dartmouth Medical School. Contributors from Haverhill Cooperative Middle School, Woodsville High School and Horse Meadow Senior Center.

Plymouth center plans Christmas dinner, concert
PLYMOUTH - Plymouth Regional Senior Center, 8 Depot St., will hold its annual Christmas Dinner on Wednesday, Dec. 12
Doors will be open at 4 p.m. Dinner, featuring a festive bufet with a carving station, will follow at 5 p.m. in the main dining hall.
Entertainment will be provided by Tim Keefe. There will be music and dancing.
Reservations are required in advance. Tickets will be sold in the Gift Shop for $5.
