Hassan names outreach team members
CONCORD - Gov.-elect Maggie Hassan on Tuesday announced members of her transition "Innovation Outreach Teams," which will focus on education and the workforce, energy and the environment, and public safety.
The groups will receive ideas from across the state, according to Hassan's transition team.
The education/workforce team includes Mary Heath, former state deputy education commissioner; Paul LeBlanc, president of Southern New Hampshire University; Fred Kocher, president of the New Hampshire High Technology Council; New Hampshire AFL-CIO President Mark MacKenzie; Stephen Reno, executive director of Leadership New Hampshire and former chancellor of the University System of New Hampshire; Jeff Rose, director of public affairs at BAE Systems, Inc.; former state Rep. Kim Casey, a former Exeter Regional Cooperative School Board member and Allen Damren, assistant superintendent of schools for Claremont, Unity and Cornish.
Serving on the energy/environment team are Al Morales, managing director of Energy Management, Inc. in Portsmouth; Joe Casey of the New Hampshire Building and Construction Trades Council; Meredith Hatfield, procedures administrator at the state Department of Administrative Services; Clay Mitchell, a partner at Revolution Energy, LLC in Portsmouth and president of the board of the New Hampshire Sustainable Energy Association;and outgoing state Sen. Amanda Merrill, D-Durham.
The governor-elect's public safety transition team includes David Lang, president of the Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire; Seth Cooper, president of the New Hampshire Troopers Association; David Young, president of the New Hampshire Police Association; Chief David Cahill of the New Hampshire Association of Chiefs of Police and Chief Chris LeClaire of the New Hampshire Association of Fire Chiefs.
Hassan also announced that Joanne Dowdell, a former congressional candidate and business executive, has been added as a member of Hassan's business outreach team, which was released on Monday along with her teams focusing on the budget and office administration.
