Ayotte to talk federal finances with Milton-area residents
MILTON - U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-NH, is planning to meet with residents to update them on efforts in Washington to control federal spending.
Ayotte plans to host an hour-long, town-hall style meeting for residents in the Strafford County area at Nute Middle-High School gymnasium, 22 Elm St., on Friday, Dec. 7. Doors are scheduled to open at 11:15 a.m. and the meeting will run from noon to 1 p.m.
A week later, on Dec. 14, Ayotte plans to hold a similar session for Coos County residents at the Pittsburg Fire and Rescue Station, 1684 North Main St. It is also scheduled to begin at noon.
If Congress and the White House cannot reach an agreement this month, $607 billion in automatic annual tax increases and spending cuts will take effect.
"New Hampshire residents are rightly concerned about the fiscal condition of our country. As the debate on budget priorities continues in Washington, I look forward to updating area residents on my efforts to put America on a fiscally sustainable path," Ayotte said in a release.
