Terie Norelli elected House speaker; Bragdon reelected Senate president
CONCORD – By a unanimous vote, the New Hampshire House has elected Democrat Terie Norelli of Portsmouth as House speaker.
This will be Norelli's third term as speaker. She held the post from 2006 until 2010.
Also by unanimous vote, the Senate has reelected Republican Peter Bragdon of Milford as Senate President. This will be Bragdon's second term as president, holding the post for the past two years.
“I look forward to working with my fellow senators on both sides of the aisle in balancing the budget, keeping taxes low and improving New Hampshire's economy,” Bragdon said in accepting the post.
“Similar to the last two years, I expect the 2013-2014 session on the Senate side will be efficient, transparent and anchored by a no-nonsense approach to conducting business for the taxpayers of New Hampshire.”
