Restaurants coming to Epping shopping center

EPPING - Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt, a Red Iguana Mexican restaurant and Subway are among the food establishments planning to open soon in the new Brickyard Square shopping center.

Waterstone Retail Development of Needham, Mass., began working to sign lease agreements with restaurants in the months before the new O'neil Cinemas opened its 12-screen theater in the 260,000-square-foot retail center in November.

Until now, Kume Sushi Hibachi was the only restaurant to announce plans to open in the plaza at the intersection of Routes 125 and 101.

Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt, one of the fastest-growing self-serve frozen dessert franchises, is expected to open early next year.

"It's a great concept that will be a nice amenity to the movie theater and restaurants," said Josh Levy, principal with Waterstone Retail.

Subway plans to begin construction in a matter of days and Red Iguana, which has a restaurant in East Kingston, is currently under design, Levy said.

Four spaces are still available in the retail building at the front of the plaza, ranging in size from 1,218 square feet to a 5,000-square-foot restaurant at the end with an outdoor patio available.

"Everyone that has opened for business here is doing extremely well and looks forward to bringing additional exciting choices to Brickyard Square," Levy said.

A 17,169-square-foot Michaels arts and crafts store is scheduled to open in February in the main retail building that houses a Market Basket, PetSmart, Marshalls and smaller retailers.

Levy said a 13,500-square-foot retail space next to Michaels is still available for a home furnishings, outdoor or sporting goods, clothing or furniture retailer.

Waterstone Retail plans to build two separate "outparcel" buildings - one with a drive-through available - next year.
