H.S. Sports Roundup: Martin leads Pinkerton; Trinity girls top Central

Sophomore Val Martin led Pinkerton of Derry with a career-high 20 points, and the Astros cruised past host Dover in Division I basketball action Tuesday night.
Pinkerton had four players in double figures, including Colleen Fortier (14 points), who sank three 3-pointers. Brandi Bonneau added 11 points and Samantha Breslin 10 as the Astros improved to 2-0. Katie Boyatsis netted 14 points to lead Dover (1-1).
Trinity 34, Central 22: At Trinity's McHugh Gym in Manchester, Ashley Hill and Jillian Gilman combined for 16 points as Trinity picked up its first win of the season. First-year coach Matt Courchesne also recorded his first varsity win.
Following a back-and-forth first half, the Pioneers took a 14-10 lead into halftime. Amanda Gaudreault led Central (0-2) with five points. Trinity improved to 1-1.
Winnacunnet 71, Keene 49: Senior forward Carly Gould had a career night, scoring 28 points with 11 rebounds as Winnacunnet of Hampton defeated host.
The Warriors (1-1) erupted for 31 points in the second quarter, taking a 42-21 lead into halftime. Mimi McLeod finished with 13 points as Winnacunnet head coach Cassie Turcotte earned his first varsity win.
Ali Wilson scored 12 points to lead Keene, which dropped to 0-2.
Bishop Guertin 91, Salem 36: At Nashua, Paige Parkinson and Meghan Green paced an offensive attack that saw the Cardinals up 45-20 by halftime with 23 and 21 points, respectively. They each had double-doubles, with Parkinson snagging 14 rebounds and Green 10.
Nicole Hayner added 12 points for Bishop Guertin (1-0). Emily Hickey and Brenna Blakesley combined for 25 points for Salem (0-2).
Goffstown 58, Hanover 45: At Goffstown, the Grizzlies rode 19 points from Tori Florence in their season debut, getting another eight points apiece from Rene Roggenbuck and Rosalie Edmonds. Holly Schlosser was the high scorer for Hanover (0-1) with eight.
Winnisquam 39, Belmont 36: At Belmont, Angie Roy led Winnisquam of Tilton (2-2) with 11 points, while Bailey Long added 10. Cassie Contigiani had a game-high 15 for Belmont (0-4), which led 36-35 with under 2 minutes remaining.
Derryfield 67, Wilton-Lyndeborough 31: At Manchester, 12 apiece from Mitch Green and Josh Gilmore and 11 each from Arthur Krogman and Tyler Zorn paved the way for the Cougars' even offensive attack. Gilmore added eight rebounds and Chris Rizos had eight assists for Derryfield (1-0). Ethan Howard had 10 for Wilton-Lyndeborough (0-2).
Colebrook 65, Gorham 56: At Colebrook, Dylan Leach tossed in a team-high 23 points to help Colebrook improve its Division IV record to 1-1.
Hunter Lambertson scored a game-high 28 for Gorham (1-1), which trailed by 15 after three quarters. Jordan Bedard added 15 for Colebrook.
