Gov.-elect Hassan names Walsh as her chief of staff

CONCORD - Concord's Pamela Walsh, a former deputy chief of staff to Gov. John Lynch, has been named chief of staff for Gov.-elect Maggie Hassan, according to a release.

"Pamela Walsh has demonstrated time and again that she is one of the most knowledgeable, creative, and effective public servants in our state, and as chief of staff, her experience will be invaluable to our efforts to build a stronger, more innovative New Hampshire," Hassan said in a statement.

Hassan further named Lucy C. Hodder of Hopkinton to serve as her legal counsel.

Walsh is serving as Hassan's transition director and, in addition to her time with Lynch, previously served as press secretary for former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen.

"I am proud to have the opportunity to work with Governor-elect Hassan to help her implement her vision for a growing and innovative New Hampshire economy," Walsh said in a statement.

Two years ago, Walsh came under fire from state House Republicans after campaign finance reports showed that Walsh, serving as Lynch's campaign manager, collected $22,000 in consulting fees from the campaign committee while she was still his deputy chief of staff.

Walsh said at the time that she served the campaign during her own time and not while working in her state role.
