MANCHESTER - Keaton Peterson and Azalkhan Sarvalov won back-to-back wrestling matches as host Manchester Central made a charge at Timberlane of Plaistow, but the end result was another lopsided win for the defending champions.

The Owls won the first four matches and eventually wore down the upstart Little Green, posting a 59-12 Division I victory at Simon Gym Wednesday night. Six Timberlane grapplers won by pin, including Shaun Grenier at 220 pounds, who took care of John Howard in 24 seconds.

Central (2-2), which finished runner-up behind Timberlane at the 2012 Meet of Champions, had circled this dual meet on its schedule.

"Tonight's definitely a measuring stick. We'd been showing a lot of promise and upward bound movement," Central coach Jason Cumming said. "You can do very well against a lot of teams in this state, and when you go up against Timberlane, they'll put you back into your place."

Timberlane's Tyler Fitzpatrick won the first match of the night at 113 pounds, pinning Xavier Ovalles in 45 seconds. Tim McLinden followed with a pin against Central's Ezra Pinder in the second period. The Owls (3-0) upped the score to 22-0 with victories by Adam Corey and Ryan Peters.

At 138 pounds, in one of the best and most exhausting matches of the night, Peterson finally put Central on the scoreboard, working for a comeback 6-5 decision against Danny Scalzo. The outcome seemed to fire up the Little Green. In the next match, Sarvalov defeated Timberlane senior standout Josh Burnham, 6-4, moving the team scores to 22-6 in favor of Timberlane.

The Owls, winner of 13 consecutive state titles, completed the match with three more pins and one forfeit victory. Zach Stewart (224 pounds) won the heavyweight battle, outlasting 282-pound Andrew Ansah in a 2-0 decision.

Timberlane coach Barry Chooljian said his team always looks forward to a trip into the city.

"Central keeps getting better, and that's good for the sport. It's good for the state," Chooljian said. "We know there are plenty of good teams in New Hampshire, and we respect all of them."

In the last match, Timberlane's Patrick Castricone took care of business at 106 pounds, pinning Jerry Hyde in 39 seconds.

"We had five kids going out there for their first match ever, but that's no excuse," Cumming said. "I thought we would've had a better showing. We definitely could have wrestled better. The kids know that."
