NHIAA Roundup: Riehl lifts Goffstown; Central rallies past Alvirne

Tim Riehl hit two late free throws as the Goffstown High boys' basketball team knocked off Windham, 64-62, Friday night in Windham.
Windham got off a last-second 3-point attempt, but the shot was off target. Riehl finished with a team-high 18 points. Goffstown received 13 points from Jake Mount and 12 from Mike Bailey.
Andrew Lohman scored a game-high 29 points to pace Windham.
Manchester Central 58, Alvirne 42: At Hudson, Central went on a 19-0 run in the fourth quarter and converted 18 of 21 free-throw attempts in the final eight minutes to post a season-opening Division I victory.
The Little Green trailed, 30-23, at halftime despite four 3-point baskets in the first half by Dawson Dickson. Dickson finished with 19 points.
Central's stifling defense took over in the second half, limiting the Broncos to 12 points. Sophomore Brett Hansen scored 12 points including a key 3-point basket to give the Little Green the lead for good with six minutes remaining in the contest. Hansen netted 18. Tyler Livingston was the lone Bronco in double figures with 11.
Memorial 66, Londonderry 58: At Londonderry, Tong Akat tossed in 22 points and Oumaru Kante finished with 18 as Manchester Memorial opened the season with a Division I victory. Drew Coveny led Londonderry with 16.
Merrimack 57, Salem 48: At Merrimack, junior guard Eric Gendron scored a game-high 18 points as the Tomahawks opened their season with a victory. Mitch Denton added 13 for Merrimack. Migel Pimental led Salem with 16.
Pembroke 66, Pelham 47: At Pembroke, Pat Welch erupted for 33 points as Pembroke opened its season on a winning note. Jordan Williams added 15 points for the Spartans. Keith Brown scored 18 points for Pelham, which received 16 from Jake Baiknoris.
Trinity 87, Concord 41: At Manchester, Trinity opened the season with balanced scoring, getting double-digits from five players. Ryan Otis led all scorers with 17 points, Mabore Gabriel (13), Patrick Keefe (13), Brad Rhoades (12) and Carmen Giampetruzzi (11) also scored in double figures.
Nashua South 56, Keene 50: At Nashua, the host Purple Panthers out-pointed the Blackbirds 22-9 in the third period before staving off a Keene fourth-period rally to secure the win. South was led by David Dunham's game-high 21 points, which included four 3-pointers. Jack Preston added 18 points. Hunter Downs (four 3-pointers) netted 15 for Keene and Taylor Sarrette chipped in 13.
Winnacunnet 66, Pinkerton 58: At Hampton, Alec Basner dropped in five free throws and a 3-pointer to spark a 30-point fourth period for the Warriors, who rallied from a six-point deficit to gain the victory. Ben Gareau led Winnacunnet with 17 points. Eight different Winnacunnet players combined for 10 three-pointers. Cam Welch netted 15 and Scott Bradley 10 for the Astros.
Coe-Brown 64, St. Thomas 42: At Northwood, Chris Laurion scored a game-high 22 points to pace Coe-Brown of Northwood to a season-opening win. Andrew Langdon added 15 points.
Pinkerton 67, Winnacunnet 38: At Derry, Colleen Fortier tossed in a game-high 18 points as the Astros improved their Division I record to 3-0. Fortier made three of her team's five 3-pointers. The Astros received 14 points from Val Martin and 10 from Sam Breslin. Melissa McLeod led Winnacunnet (1-2) with 12.
Trinity 44, Concord 38: At Concord, junior point guard Lizzy Meehan made five free throws in the fourth quarter to help Trinity (2-1) pull away from Concord (0-2). Meehan led Trinity with 11 points. Cassidy Emerson led the Crimson Tide with 12. It was a 30-30 game entering the final eight minutes.
Alvirne 57, Manchester Central 41: At Manchester, Sandi Purcell poured in 22 points and the Broncos won their third game of the Division I season. The Little Green, paced by Amanda Gaudreault's 14 points, stumbled through the first quarter and trailed 14-5 after eight minutes. Veronica Moceri added 16 points for Alvirne.
Londonderry 54, Memorial 42: At Manchester, visiting Londonderry improved to 2-1 in Division I. Aliza Simpson scored 14 points and Jenna Conroy added 10 for the Lancers. Danielle Fletcher scored 15 to pace Memorial (0-2).
Goffstown 42, Windham 37: At Windham, the Grizzlies won their second straight game as they rolled to a 27-19 halftime advantage. Tori Florence led the Goffstown effort with 14 points while Rosalie Edmonds added 10. The Jaguars' Clairee Putnam banked in a game-high 21 points, which included a trio of three-point field goals.
Campbell 60, Prospect Mountain 30: At Alton, the Cougars burst to a 34-10 halftime lead and cruised to their third victory in five games. Aly O'Donnell and Hannah Neild led the winners with 14 points apiece. Prospect Mountain is 1-3.
Merrimack 47, Salem 44: At Salem, Kaitlyn Petrocelli collected a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Tomahawks to their first Division I win of the season. Kate Cole added nine points and 10 boards as the winners rallied from a 12-4 first-period deficit. Emily Hickey led the Blue Devils with 14 points.
