State unemployment dips in November
New Hampshire's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for November was 5.6 percent, a decrease of 0.1 percentage point from the October rate, which remained at 5.7 percent after revision, New Hampshire Employment Security said Tuesday.
The November 2011 seasonally adjusted rate was 5.3 percent, when the number of employed residents was 697,950, a decrease of 60 from the previous month and a decrease of 3,590 from November 2011.
The number of unemployed residents decreased by 630 over the month to 41,590. That was 2,520 more unemployed than in November 2011. From October to November 2012, the total labor force decreased by 690 to 739,540, a decrease of 1,070 from November 2011.
Nationally, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for November 2012 was 7.7 percent, a decrease of 0.2 percentage points from the October rate and a decrease of 1.0 percent from November 2011.
