MILFORD - A Hollis man accused of attacking his girlfriend's parents in their home has been charged with a felony and several misdemeanors for the attack Saturday night.

Brandon Rocha, 19, of 11 Nevis Road appeared in the 9th Circuit Court in Milford on Monday after spending part of the weekend at Valley Street jail in Manchester.

According to court documents, Rocha's girlfriend went missing from her parent's home at 129 Old Milford Road, Brookline, on Saturday night, and when they finally tracked her down, she was with Rocha.

Rocha took the phone and hurled insults and accusations of abuse at the girl's father, Steve Dapolito before hanging up.

A short while later, according to court documents, Rocha showed up at the Dapolito's home and broke in through the garage. Once inside, he said he was "here to get even with you for hurting your daughter," court documents said.

He knocked Vicki Dapolito to the ground, took off his shirt and began beating Steve Dapolito.

Court documents said Rocha tried to choke Dapolito and knocked him to the ground.

During the altercation, Brookline police arrived on scene and one of the officers saw the attack taking place through the window, court documents said. The officer entered the house, separated the two men, took Rocha into custody and placed him in the police cruiser.

Rocha, who appeared to be heavily intoxicated, according to court documents, began trying to kick out the windows. He threatened the officers with legal action and hurled insults all the way to Valley Street jail, where he was placed in isolation and held until Monday.

Rocha was charged with a felony count of burglary, three counts of simple assault, along with criminal threatening and resisting arrest.

In court Monday morning, Rocha's father told Judge Martha Crocker that his son was suffering from a medical condition and was on three different prescription drugs and that one of those drugs wasn't being taken according to directions.

Rocha's father asked for bail to be reduced to personal recognizance and said he would take Rocha home to Manchester with him.

"He'd be better off going to Valley Street because life with me is not going to be easy," his father said.

However, at the request of Brookline Prosecutor Doug Barnett, who raised issues about the safety of the Dapolito family, Crocker set Rocha's bail at $10,000 cash or corporate surety and banned him from the town of Brookline until his next hearing on Jan. 22.

Crocker also said Rocha could not leave home unless in the company of his father.

"You're going to be your father's shadow until you come back to court," Crocker told Rocha.
