Candia, Hooksett officials discuss Manchester superintendent search
MANCHESTER - Representatives of the Candia and Hooksett school boards weighed in on the search for a new superintendent for the Manchester School District Tuesday night.
Candia and Hooksett board members couldn't make a session Monday, so a hastily-arranged session was arranged Tuesday.
Nicole LaFlamme, vice chairman of the Candia School Board, and Hooksett board members Kim Royer and Cheryl Askin met with a consultant to Manchester's search panel.
"It was a very good meeting," LaFlamme said. "It's a tall order to find a strong leader with a brilliant mind and a big heart for the leadership position."
Board of School Committee member Ted Rokas said after the boards missed connections, he wanted to try again.
"It was important to get their input, so we made the calls," Rokas said.
He called the meeting "positive," a view shared in the towns.
"A superintendent search is one of the most challenging searches you can do." LaFlamme said. "As long as they don't take ours, we're fine. We love Dr. (Charles) Littlefield."
