CONCORD - Gov. John Lynch encourages citizens of New Hampshire to join Connecticut and other states in a moment of silence today at 9:30 a.m. to honor the 26 who were killed at the Sandy Hook Elementary School last Friday in Newtown, Conn.
Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy has declared Friday a Day of Mourning in Connecticut, and has sent letters to the governors of all states asking them to participate in a moment of silence to honor the victims.
"The people of New Hampshire are shocked and saddened by this terrible tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their loved ones," Lynch said. "We mourn as a state and nation for the 26 innocent lives that were taken."
