Lawmakers' opening act
They are called Legislative Service Requests - LSRs - and they comprise the seeds of what lawmakers hope will grow to become the laws of the land. Although many address weighty issues, such as gambling and guns, others are less ponderous, including one that would let a restaurateur bring a dog to work. We look at the more than 700 LSRs filed by this week's deadline to give you some of the highlights.
