Despite win over Bills, Dolphins' playoff hopes come to an end

MIAMI - Reggie Bush had three touchdowns - two through the air and the other on the ground - and the Miami Dolphins forced four turnovers to skunk the visiting Buffalo Bills on Sunday, 24-10.

Miami's win preserved their playoff chances for a brief moment, but they were ultimately dashed by a Cincinnati Bengals win at the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Bush had 65 yards rushing and 42 receiving in what could be his final home game in a Dolphins uniform.

Ryan Tannehill completed 13 of 25 passes for 130 yards. Reshad Jones recovered two fumbles and had a pick in the win.

Nate Kaeding got a not-so-warm welcome to Miami on the Dolphins' opening drive. His 46-yard field goal attempt was blocked by Alex Carrington.

Then something even stranger happened: The Dolphins actually forced a turnover. Sean Smith stripped Stevie Johnson after a catch, and Jones scooped it up.

Nine plays later, the Dolphins were in the end zone. Tannehill connected with Reggie Bush on a 17-yard catch-and-run, with Bush turning on the jets around the right end and lunging to the pylon.

Buffalo answered with a 42-yard field goal by Rian Lindell on a drive highlighted by a 62-yard run by C.J. Spiller.

Bush got into the end zone again late in the first half on a 1-yard plunge, capping a drive that included a 30-yard pass and a 31-yard run by Tannehill.

After another Bills turnover - this time a fumble by Dorin Dickerson - Bush did it again, this time reeling in a perfect 12-yard pass from Tannehill to stretch the lead to 21-3.

For good measure, the Dolphins forced another fumble (Wake forced it with his 15th sack, Jones recovered it), and Kaeding pounded through a 45-yarder.

Buffalo cut into the lead in the fourth quarter, when Ryan Fitzpatrick connected with Brad Smith for a two-yard touchdown pass.

The Bills had first-and-goal at the 1 with under 2 minutes to play, but Jones put it away with an acrobatic interception.
