Brady McNulty's first two goals of the year proved to be the difference Wednesday as Memorial High of Manchester passed a big early season test by knocking off previously unbeaten Concord, 3-2, at Everett Arena in Concord.

"Anytime you go on the road to Concord and come away with a win, you're excited," Memorial coach Mark Putney said.

The Crusaders (4-1) jumped out to a 3-0 lead behind goals by Nick Burgess and McNulty in the first period and another by McNulty midway through the second. The Crimson (2-1-1) got one back in the second on a goal by Adam Godbout and made it 3-2 when Godbout scored again midway through the third. They were the second and third goals of the year for Godbout.

Memorial senior goaltender Josh Jacob protected the lead with several of his 17 saves coming in key moments late in the game.

Central 8, Exeter 6: At Manchester, the host Little Green stayed undefeated (4-0) with an high-energy attack at JFK Coliseum. Senior Austin Sprague completed a hat trick with the game's final goal, and Trevor Malmgren scored two goals for Central. Tyler Stratton had a goal and three assists for the winners. Chris Michaud scored twice for Exeter (1-3).

Dover 3, Oyster River 1: At Dover, Mitchell Welch scored twice, including the game-winner in the third period to lift the Green Wave (3-1) past the Bobcats (2-1).

Berlin 4, Souhegan 3: At Berlin, the Mountaineers (5-0) won this matchup of two of the top teams in Division III as goals by Justin Vien and Mike Lemoine closed out a wild second period that saw the two teams combine for five goals. It was Vien's second goal of the game. The Sabers (4-1) had tied the game at 2-all when Matt Wislon and Mike Hayden scored 22 seconds apart. Connor Jewett figured in all four goals for the Mountaineers with a goal and three assists.

Girls' basketball

Londonderry 78, Merrimack 42: Aliza Simpson scored 17 points, and the host Lancers sank 10 3-pointers in a rout of Merrimack on Wednesday night. Jaime King drained three shots from long range and had 11 points. Jordan Marett chipped in nine points as Londonderry improved to 4-1. Kate Cole and Kaitlyn Petrocelli each had 11 points for Merrimack (2-4).

Bishop Guertin 57, Manchester Central 28: In Manchester, the Cardinals (4-1) built up a 35-12 halftime lead against a very young Central (0-5) squad. Meghan Green netted 24 points in the win.

Amanda Gaudreault led the Little Green with eight points. Nicole Hayner had two three-point field goals and finished with eight points for BG.

Goffstown 60, St. Thomas 56: In Dover, the Grizzlies (5-0) snapped a 54-54 tie with six free throws, two each from Tori Florence (21 points), Rosalie Edmonds (20 points) and Brionne Turcotte (11 points). Florence scored 15 first half points while Edmonds had 11 in the second half. Goffstown was 14-of-20 from the free throw line while the Saints (2-3) were 5-of-10. Mariah Desmarais of St. Thomas had 22 points with six three-point field goals including three in the fourth period to lead a 19-point barrage which fell short.
