Smagula takes new post at PSNH

Public Service of New Hampshire has named Bill Smagula as vice president - generation. Smagula, a 34-year veteran of PSNH and its parent corporation, Northeast Utilities (NU), will take the place of John MacDonald, who is retiring.

Smagula has served PSNH and NU in a variety of capacities since 1978, notably in his most recent role as director - PSNH generation. He was instrumental in the planning and successful completion of the Clean Air Project, a mercury and sulfur emissions reduction system at Merrimack Station in Bow, as well as the development of the Northern Wood Power project, currently the state's largest biomass energy source, at Schiller Station in Portsmouth.

He currently serves on the board of the NH Board of Licensure of Professional Engineers as well as a member of the NH Air Resources Council. He lives in Bedford. á

Raposa named interim director of NHFCU

Julie Raposa of Chichester was recently appointed as an interim director for NH Federal Credit Union. Raposa will fill the vacancy that was left after longtime NHFCU Director Edward McCann retired from the board after 19 years.

Raposa has been a member of NHFCU since last year and also serves on NHFCU's Personnel Committee.

Kirchberger joins Radisson Nashua

Eric Kirchberger has been named director of sales and marketing for Radisson Nashua. Kirchberger brings 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry to the position.

Before joining the hotel, Kirchberger served as director of sales and marketing at the Nashua Courtyard Marriott for six years. He also held regional and global sales positions with Marriott International.

Lincoln Foundation awards NH grants

The Lincoln Foundation recently awarded $72,600 in economic and work force development grants to five local nonprofit organizations, a portion of $500,000 in charitable funds that Lincoln Foundation has allocated for the area in 2012.

The Concord Area Trust for Community Housing (CATCH) received $27,500 to create a regional center for home buyer education.

Other grants include:

-- $17,500 to the New Hampshire Humanities Council for the Connections Adult Literacy program.

-- $12,500 to More than Wheels for its Credit Repair program that helps consumers address their credit issues by changing their financial behavior.

-- $10,100 to Second Start for College Bridge 101, a transitional education program for refugees and immigrants.

-- $6,000 to the Upper Room for the GED Options program which provides instruction for up to 45 youth ages 16-21 at Pinkerton Academy who elect the GED alternative.

Mokas, Harrington join Citizens Bank

Deno Mokas has joined Citizens Bank as senior vice president, senior investment portfolio manager for Citizens Private Bank & Trust in New Hampshire. He is responsible for building and managing investment portfolios for high net worth individuals, trusts and institutions. Mokas is a contributor to the investment strategy process at Citizens Private Bank & Trust.

Carol Ann Harrington has joined Citizens Bank as vice president, trust officer. She is responsible for managing relationships with high net worth individuals, trusts and not-for-profit clients for Citizens Private Bank & Trust in New Hampshire.

Mokas has 27 years of investment and banking experience. Most recently he was an investment manager at LPL/Eldridge Investment Advisors.

Harrington has 24 years of banking experience, 20 of which were specifically focused on private banking and 12 in trust administration. Most recently she was with U.S. Trust, Bank of America's private wealth management group.

Reposa to lead MVSB Gilford office

Becky Reposa has been promoted to branch and business development manager of the Meredith Village Savings Bank's Gilford office.

Reposa joined MVSB in 1999 as a teller in Gilford.

Credit union names Kennedy branch manager

Northeast Credit Union recently named Gregory Kennedy as the branch manager for its new Merrimack branch located at 370 Daniel Webster Highway. The new branch opened Dec. 10.

Kennedy has more than 12 years of experience in banking and lending, most recently serving as the Branch Manager and Senior Loan Officer for Triangle Credit Union in Manchester.
