Food safety classes available at Manchester Health Department
MANCHESTER - A class on food safety will be offered next month by the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension, the extension said in a release.
The class, called ServSafe, "provides participants with the latest science-based information on safe food handling and best practices in the foodservice industry," according to a release. Those who pass an exam with 75 percent proficiency will earn a five-year food safety certification from the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation.
The class will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 4 at the city Health Department building on Elm Street.
The class is $140 per person, which includes a course book, the class and the test. Preregistration and prepayment is required. For registration information, contact Lynn Harrison at 679-5616 or lynn.harrison@unh.edu. The deadline to register is Jan. 18.
